To become one:

Have an engineering degree (E&I / Electrical / Mechanical / Civil)

Learn Primavera P6 (must) and Excel

Understand CPM, WBS, baseline, progress update, delay analysis

Gain site + planning exposure (oil & gas experience is a plus)

Prepare and update project schedules & reports

Career path: Site Engineer → Junior Planning Engineer → Planning Engineer → Senior
