Measuring and Protective CT

CTs divided by Two type:

Ø  Protective CTs connected to lines : they should faithfully produce the secondary current in proportion to the primary current.

Ø  Measuring CTs connected with Wattmeter’s / Ammeters : they are deliberately designed not to supply secondary current above 1.2 times the rated current to avoid overloading of sensitive measuring equipment’s.
