Gasification

Gasification :
  The gasification involves partial combustion and reduction in operation of  biomass. In typical combustion process, generally oxygen is surplus while in a gasification process, fuel is the surplus.
The combustion products mainly carbon, water vapor,nitrogen ,carbon di oxide and hydrogen .
                                   C+O2=CO2

                                    C+CO2=2CO

                                         C+H2O = CO + H2

                                                  CO + H2O= CO2 + H2

                                                             C+ 2H2 = CH4

1.Fixed bed gasifier
2.Fluidized  bed gasifier

The fixed bed gasifier are classified into

1.Updraft
2.Downdraft
3.Cross draft
